’Misogynist’ beat partner, cut off hair

A “dangerous misogynist” who beat his on-again, off-again partner to a pulp then cut off her hair and forced her to clean up her own blood was jailed yesterday for more than four years.After subjecting his partner to a prolonged thrashing in his Ellenbrook home in April last year, Bradley Joseph Mancuso gave her two tablets to make her “feel better”.The next thing the woman remembers is waking up in a pool of blood and hair and being forced to spend hours cleaning the house Mancuso had trashed. Mancuso put the woman in his car, which contained a jerry can of petrol and Molotov cocktails, and drove to his mother’s house.A neighbour called police when he spotted the battered victim in the LandCruiser, sparking a high-speed chase that ended when Mancuso’s car was trapped by a wire fence.District Court Judge Philip McCann jailed Mancuso for 4½ years yesterday for aggravated grievous bodily harm, saying the attack reflected “malice of an extremely serious kind”.He said the 35-year-old needed professional help to find out why he was a dangerous misogynist with a deep-seated disrespect and loathing for women. “This man needs to find out why he is such a volatile person and why he uses drugs to cover up his pain,” he said. “It is only a matter of time before he kills someone.”Mancuso mouthed “I love you” to the victim when he was led out of the court. The woman has been visiting him in jail and remains committed to him. With time already served, Mancuso could be released on parole in October next year.x
